We are a non-profit statewide organization committed to the on-going improvement and advancement of the glass and glazing industry in the state of Colorado. The CGCA was founded in 1993 to promote the improved education and quality of the glazing industry. Our Executive Officers, Board of Directors and Members, have worked hard to help elevate the knowledge and professionalism of our membership, therefore giving back to the communities of Colorado glazing installations that are safe, professional and of the highest quality.
The CGCA hosts bi-monthly dinner meetings, which feature guest speakers covering a variety of products and up to date issues that affect the glass and glazing industry. These meetings are open to anyone who would like to attend and everyone comes away having learned a little more about the business. We also sponsor several social events each year which are always enjoyable and well attended. Our gatherings are very beneficial not only to the glazing industry, but also those involved with Architecture and General Contracting.
Our 2007 President has teamed up with a number of talented and dedicated volunteers. We’ve even welcomed back a few board members who served in the previous millennium. As we welcomed those individuals, we have also begun to witness a return of some glazing contractor companies into the membership fold. They will be encouraged to hear some of our initiatives for 2007 revolve directly around them! · Increased member benefits to include health care programs for smaller glass shops, discounted pricing with many suppliers, and pre-payment discounts · Numerous outreach events to continue educational opportunities in outlying Colorado cities · With a new governor, our legislative bill has become law!
In 2005, we began what is now an annual scholarship program. The Glaziers’ Education Fund rewards $1,000 to an individual seeking further education within our industry. Whether that person is still pursuing his/her degree or has been employed within one of our member companies for some time, the board has consistently been impressed with all nominees and recipients.
The year 2004 brought our industry new legislative challenges and the CGCA was present at the state capital to represent and protect all our members. Our board of directors has since then made a directive to partner with the Colorado Construction Reform Coalition to ensure a constant presence in the minds of our legislators.
In 2003, we celebrated our 10 year anniversary as an association. Speakers and guests from all over the United States came and wished another decade of success for our group. Join us in reaching that landmark occasion. Join the CGCA and become a part of something much larger than one competitor, one job, or one voice in the crowd. Join the Colorado Glazing Contractors Association today!
